 Ricardo Chavira Biography
Ricardo Chavira was born in Austin, Texas and raised in nearby San Antonio. Ricardo excelled as a student and received his Masters, Fine Arts from the University of California, San Diego Professional Actor Training Program. Ricardo has portrayed many roles in TV, stage and film including Touchstone’s The Alamo. Chavira is most recognized from his television role in Desperate Housewives portraying Carlos Solis, husband to ex-model and unhappy wife Gabrielle (Eva Longoria Parker).
In Saving God, Ricardo Chavira plays the role of Reverend Danny Christopher, a locally raised man of the cloth who has found a way to combine the message of God with the finer things in life. Reverend Christopher never misses a chance to promote both himself and God at either the pulpit or over the airwaves via radio and television. The confrontation between Pastor Armstrong Cane (Ving Rhames) and Reverend Danny Christopher sets the stage for controversy on how best to deliver God’s message, to not only their congregations but also how best to communicate with the local community and entice new participation within their respective churches.
Ricardo Chavira resides in the Los Angeles, California area with wife Marcia Dietzel and young son. Tragically, Ricardo lost his mother to breast and ovarian cancer when she was only 43 years old. Since then, Ricardo has been an active advocate for breast cancer research and is honorary spokesperson for Susan G. Komen For The Cure.
