Dean McDermott Biography
Dean McDermott is a tall, handsome blue eyed Canadian born actor who grew up in Toronto, Ontario. Dean received rave reviews and talent recognition from the TV comedy drama series Due South, where he played the fictional character role of Constable Renfield Turnbull for three consecutive seasons. After the Due South series concluded, roles were easier for Dean to obtain. McDermott’s chance to work with Ving Rhames occurred when casted as Detective Dan Riggins in the TV series Kojak.
In Saving God, Dean McDermott plays the role of illegal drug captain Blaze, a comedic mean spirited gangster whose inner turmoil is torn between money and the family he has lost to his ill-gotten career. His army includes character Norris Johns (Dwain Murphy), a young drug dealing thug looking to find a better life, but the money rewards from drug dealing makes it difficult to change. In true character form, Dean shaved his head into a Mohawk style cut complete with graffiti tattoo to help give Blaze a unique and disturbing portrayal of a mean spirited drug villain.
Dean McDermott has received much publicity from his marriage to Tori Spelling. Both Dean and Tori had been previously married to other partners, but have found true soul mates with each other. Dean and Tori reside in the Los Angeles, California area with their son Liam and are expecting another child. Both Dean and Tori were recently interviewed on CNN: Larry King Live where Dean and Tori elaborate on their passionate love for each other and their growing family.
